Exoskeletons should protect the health of employees during heavy physical exertion, as well as facilitate work with bulky equipment or in a confined space. The devices do not restrict freedom of action, they can even be worn with regular workwear. A specialist, lifting a load in an exoskeleton, will feel only half of the weight.
Exoskeletons will be tested by two branches of Rosseti Lenenergo. Testing will be completed in the first quarter of 2022, after which a decision will be made on scaling the project. The devices will be tested in work on grounding overhead power lines, when clearing vegetation in clearings, as well as when carrying heavy materials and tools.
