“Kalashnikov” will turn IZH Kombi in rival Tesla

The concern Kalashnikov, part of Rostec, has demonstrated at the international forum “Army-2018” concept electric supercar CV-1. About it told the press service of the company.



Interestingly, the company sees this trend as an opportunity to create a competitor to Tesla. Sofia Ivanova, Director of external communications, said: “We are talking about how to compete with that Tesla, because currently it is a successful project in the field of electric vehicles. We expect at least not to give in to him.”



The prototype is made in retro style and is based on the classic of the Soviet automobile industry — IZH-21252 “Kombi”. Also, it uses some of the original systems developed by “Kalashnikov”.

According to the manufacturer, the concept acts as a bench test of these systems. Their status is governed by common-Board computer, it allows you to monitor the condition of the engine, inverter and battery. Rated power CV-1 is 220 kW peak – 500 kW. The power reserve of the car is 350 km.
