Volkswagen Golf TDI BlueMotion
Seven. Of the 263 tested cars… And you will be amazed what seven cars.

Emissions Analytics (EA) has 263 diesel cars which are new to purchase a test subject and exceed there are exactly seven(!) the legal standard for NOx emissions. In other words, 256 of the 263 newly sold models do not meet the rules for what regards the emission of nitrogen oxides. You know, the harmful stuff that especially from a Volkswagen exhaust to the atmosphere is pumped.

At least, that is what you are by the whole dieselgate scandal would expect. The figures from the EA indicate, however, that VAG are lesson learned. Of the seven cars that do meet the standard requirements, there are four a Volkswagen. The other three are, in fact, two Skoda’s and one Audi. Purely VAG.

Incidentally, we find at the bottom of the list, also a VAG product, so quite frankly, the Germans certainly will not. The Audi A8 3.0 TDI does it pretty bad, and shares the bottom of the list with the Ssangyong Korando 2.2 D and the Fiat 500X 1.6 MultiJet. These three cars emit a minimum of twelve times the amount of NOx according to the Euro6 requirements is allowed. Another wanpresteerder is according to EA, the Opel Zafira Tourer 1.6 CDTI, which is eight to twelve times more emissions than the Euro6 limit. An outcome that our Neighbours had predicted. It is remarkable that also the brand new Infiniti Q30 1.5 diesel a similar normoverschrijding shows.

EA has the cars tested by them all the same piece of public road to take, under the same circumstances and with the same directors. The cars are equipped with mobile devices for the exhaust gases to analyze. The results show that, according to them, that it really is possible to really clean diesels, but many manufacturers still do not know ready to play. The full list of results, check here.
