Dakar 2015: full Dutch podium in stage 12!

The Dutch truckers started with a very strong final offensive. Hans Stacey won today’s twelfth stage, Marcel van Vliet and Gerard de Rooy.

We have unfortunately already have to conclude that our countrymen no fist could make against the Russian friends of Kamaz. Then rest it in the second week nothing else than to fight for the dagzeges and that goes especially Stacey very well. He showed himself yesterday already the best and won today’s stage from Termas Rio Hondo to Rosario.

The differences between the Dutch trio remained, incidentally, is very small during the 298 km long special stage. Stacey and De Rooy seemed to go who was with the dagzege off would go, but in the final stage, yanked also Van Vliet. He finished only 18 seconds of Stacey as second, followed by De Rooy on 28 seconds.

Stacey is and will remain also in the overall standings, the best Dutchman with the sixth place. He has a backlog of 2.5 hours on Kamaz driver Airat Mardeev. Tomorrow, we will be the last stage in the direction of Buenos Aires, and with a little luck Stacey still has a spot to win, because Dmitry Sotnikov has a lead of just seven minutes. So thumbs!
