Jaguar XJ facelift brings more efficiency and gadgets

Jaguar has a 6 year old XJ to a small update subject. Especially the diesel version was improved, the 3.0 V6 now produces more than 100 hp per liter.

The appearance of the flagship was (in contrast to the previous update) slightly retouched: the grille grew a mate, and the air intakes are fitted with chrome slats. LED headlights are now standard, and the rear is equipped with LED messages. Other distinctive features are the oval tailpipes and partly in high-gloss black finished bumper.

Engines

The V6 diesel is now Euro-6b compliant, and delivers 225 kW/306 hp and 700 Nm (predecessor: 202 kW/275 hp and 600 Nm). In front of this vehicle is CO2 emissions which declined from 159 to 149 g/km. Jaguar achieved this in his own words, with optimized turbochargers, new injectors, higher injection pressure, improved thermal management and lower internal resistance.

Benzinerijders can choose between a 2.0-liter four-cylinder (176 kW/240 hp and 340 Nm, RWD), 3.0 V6 supercharged (250 kW/340 hp and 450 Nm, AWD), and the 5.0 V8 (405 kW/550 hp and 680 Nm, RWD). All the XJ’s have a standard eight speed automatic transmission.

Gadgets

In addition to the electric EPAS power assisted steering have rear-wheel drive XJ’s optional All-Surface Progress Control (ASPC). At speeds between 4-30 km/h and bad (weather)conditions, the system will hold the grip for optimum performance, where necessary, the power output, throttle and brakes. In addition, Traffic Sign Recognition, Adaptive Cruise Control with Queue Assist and Park Assist with semiautonoom parking available.

Inside can audiophiles enjoy 1300 Watts of Meridian tweeters and woofers, and rear seat passengers their own entertainment system at their disposal. The bijgepunte XJ is this autumn expected to hit the market.
