Two thirds of parents agree to block children’s access to undesirable content

The company ESET conducted a survey among Internet users. As it turned out, 66% of parents agree and are willing to block the kids access to a variety of undesirable content.

According to parents, the most desirable function of “Parental control” is to block unwanted sites, voted for by 46% of respondents. 20% picked the lock of mobile applications. Another third is more interested in “Parental control” for determining the location of the child and sending urgent messages to the child, 21% and 13%, respectively.

With regard to the duration of “Parental control”, then 49% is inclined, that it should be used after the child has attained 14 years of age. 39% of respondents think that parental supervision is needed until the age of majority, 11% — up to 21 years or even longer. 1% advanced parents inclined to think that the function of “Parental control” is relevant only to seven years.
