Stamceltechniek need the white rhino rescue

BERLIN –

Scientists want with stamceltechnieken the northern white rhino from extinction. By the death this year of two specimens in zoos in the USA and the Czech republic, now living only three of the animals in Kenya, including a male.

The international team of scientists wants to through stamceltechnieken sperm and eggs to grow and artificially into an embryo transform. That will be a surrogate mother, for example, a southern white rhino, are placed in the hope that there are viable boy come true.

One of the participating organisations, the Leibniz-Institut für Zoo – und Wildtierforschung in Berlin, made the rescue attempt Tuesday known.
