Based on special material, scientists from Flinders University in Australia have created a wetsuit that protects against the bite of the great white shark, the most dangerous ocean predator for humans.Discuss
The costume manufacturer is a subsidiary of the Flinders University Snark Stop. The suit is made of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene with the addition of neoprene. The product was tested for durability on special floats that were attacked by great white sharks. The material has shown its strength, surpassing steel and Kevlar by 8-15 times.
The product can already be bought on the Kickstarter platform for $570, or 45,001 rubles. The suit has a thickness of 2 to 7 mm, due to the characteristics of the material, it is heavier than products made from ordinary neoprene, but no less flexible.
