For example, Russian physician Lyudmila Lapa said that when a person smokes, vascular spasms occur inside his body along with thickening of the blood. This, coupled with vaccination, can cause a blood clot.

Because of this, it is advisable for smokers to give up their bad habit during the vaccination period. But if the craving is too strong, the specialist advised taking anticoagulants – they reduce the activity of the blood coagulation system and prevent the formation of blood clots, writes TASS.

At the same time, pulmonologist Alexei Nikishenkov noted that smoking can put additional stress on the body after vaccination. Because of this, in turn, it is quite possible to exacerbate side effects.
