1 December 2018 in Russia will begin an experiment to test unmanned vehicles on public roads. This was reported “Interfax” with reference to the words of the Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev.
Testing will begin on the roads of Moscow and Tatarstan with the participation of more than hundred cars. Testing will be attended by the company Yandex with its drones.
During the meeting with Deputy Prime Ministers Medvedev said: “I signed a government resolution on the experiment for trial operation on the roads of General use of highly automated vehicles.”
According to Medvedev, the law should give definitions that would permit such transportation to develop, including “what is an automated circuit driving, who is the owner of a highly automated vehicle.” This will determine the legal consequences in cases of accidents, who will be held responsible for the damage and so on.
