Operators MegaFon”, “Rostelecom” and the company rostec are in talks about the creation of a single infrastructure operator, which will build the 5G network in Russia. About it reported the edition “Kommersant”, citing three sources on the telecommunications market.
The 5G network from a single operator should use local solutions. The beginning of the work of the joint venture is scheduled for March 2019. The exact timing depends on the resolution of Rostelecom on increase of the stake in Tele2.
At the moment the documents are already close to signing a deal could be concluded “either at the end of this year or early next”. Note that all three companies are actively involved in testing and preparation of networks of the fifth generation.
