In Russia will revive the production of cameras legendary brand “Zenith”. This was announced at the Photokina exhibition in Cologne in 2018 of the company Leica and the “Schwab”. They also showed the first joint development of a digital rangefinder camera Zenit M.
The brand “Zenith” is now owned by Krasnogorskiy Zavod im. S. A. Zvereva, which is included in the holding “Schwabe”. Camera Zenit M is based on the Leica M (Type 240), but has some differences in the part of the component base and software.
The camera has a lens Zenitar 35 mm f/1.0, are made of metal and glass. It is completely designed and manufactured in Russia, 100% of components and materials in its structure – the Russian production. The lens creates does not require processing of the image with a unique bokeh effect and soft-focus.
The design has references to the cameras “Zenit” and “Vigilant.” In its development participated Studio SmirnovDesign.
In Europe sales M Zenit will start in December this year, on the territory of Russia – in January 2019 in the online store “Zenit” and a limited list of stores photography. Prices yet to be announced.
