Non-profit, public benefit Corporation, ICANN (Corporation for assigned names and IP addresses) have warned about possible failures of the Internet around the world October 11, 2018.
This is due to the first change of cryptographic keys that protect the DNS (Internet domain name). Change of keys is assigned just on October 11. The process named “update KSK” (key signing keys).
Although ICANN suggests that the effects of changing the KSK in the root zone for users will be minimal, it is expected that a small percentage of Internet users will experience difficulties when resolving domain names in non-technical language so that they will have problems reaching the online destination.
