LG showed the world’s first OLED TV with a resolution of 8K

The opening of the exhibition IFA 2018, which will be held from 31 August to 5 September in Berlin, LG Electronics introduced the world’s first OLED TV with a resolution of 8K (7680 x 4320).

Model 8K LG OLED TV has a diagonal of 88 inches, a panel contains 33 million pixels samoobsluzhivaniya.

LG also shared their plans and hopes. Due to the expected increase in volumes of OLED TVs on the market two times in 2018, and exceeding the figure at nine million units by 2022, LG plans to continue to increase the share of OLED TVs in the segment of premium-class models and to accelerate the pace of transition of consumers on OLED televisions. Given the fact that the market for TVs with a resolution of 8K is still in its infancy, it is expected that by 2022, growth will exceed 5 million units, and LG hopes to lead the market for ultra-luxury apartments with a new technology 8K OLED TV.

We will remind, earlier internationally 8K televisions introduced Sharp, Panasonic, LG and Samsung also own 8K TV shown in may the Belarusian “Horizon”.
