The organizers of the E3 show (Electronic Entertainment Expo) has announced the winners of the Game Critic Awards 2018. The awards ceremony is held annually after E3 since 1998.
In 2018 the number of nominees included 56 games. Winners are selected by the gaming media and opinion leaders in the industry.
The best game of the show was the re-release of Resident Evil 2 from Capcom. Best original game — Dreams. Best game for consoles — Marvel’s Spider-Man from Insomniac, for PC — Anthem, the best game for virtual reality — Tetris Effect. Interestingly, in the list of winners did not include any game from Bethesda, though among the nominees they were listed. A special award was presented to Naughty Dog Studio for the graphics and sound in The Last of Us Part II, and CD Projekt RED Cyberpunk 2077 received a special award for graphics and innovation.

- Best strategy: Total War: Three Kingdoms (the Creative Assembly/Sega)
- Best family or social game: Overcooked 2 (Ghost Town Games/Team 17)
- Best online multiplayer: Battlefield V (EA DICE/EA)
- Best indie game: Ori and the Will of Wisps (Moon Studios/Microsoft)
- Best supported game: Fortnite (Epic)
