Korean company Samsung has ceded the Chinese Huawei first place in sales of smartphones in Russia. About this informed the newspaper “Vedomosti” with reference to the materials of the partner of several manufacturers of electronics, as well as an employee of one of the retailers.
Three weeks from 28 may to 17 Jun Huawei and its Honor sub-brand, led by sales in units with shares of 23.8%, 24.2% and 26.5% of every week, respectively. The share of Samsung accounted for 22.9%, 23% and 23.2% of all smartphone sales. In the week from 21 to 27 may, Samsung was still the leader with 22.6 per cent at 21.3 per cent at Huawei and Honor.
According to analyst Mobile Research Group Eldar Murtazin, Samsung for the first time in more than a decade has lost the status of leader. The company was ranked first in the Russian market in sales of smartphones in pieces since 2007.
At the same time on the second place Huawei was released quite recently, in February, it pushed into third place by Apple. The reason for the “rise” Murtazin considers a balanced portfolio of Huawei and a number of models at a price less 15 thousand roubles that almost no Samsung.
