Russia may revise the law in relation to reposts in social networks. The State Duma has already introduced a bill that eliminates criminal penalties in relation to part 1 of article 282 of the criminal code — “actions aimed at inciting hatred or hostility using mass media, including the Internet”.

If now part 1 of article 282 of the criminal code provides for punishment up to imprisonment for up to five years, in the case of the amendments, the maximum that will face the “wrong” repost sotssetyah — a fine up to 20 thousand rubles, or compulsory work up to 100 hours or administrative arrest up to 15 days.
Authors were made by Alexey Zhuravlev, Chairman of the party “Rodina”, as well as Sergei Shargunov, the member of fraction of the Communist party. According to the authors, the bill must be paid the “fair responsibility” for harmless actions to society, to reduce the burden of the criminal Executive system of the Russian Federation, expert and judicial community of Russia and to increase public confidence in Russian justice.
