Discovered a previously unknown structure of connective tissue

It may seem that in the human body all studied up and down, but this is not so. For example, last year scientists found a new body, and not so long ago, as reported by the publication of Scientific Reports, was discovered the new structure of the connective tissues, which can shed light on most of the internal organs, and even to explain the mechanisms of development of some serious diseases.

As reported by our Western colleagues, a new study indicates that layers of connective tissue that were previously considered a single establishment, in fact, consist of fluid-filled and connected elements. These structures lining our gastrointestinal tract, the lungs and are found under the deep layers of the skin. As stated by scientists, to discover new anatomical structure has not previously been possible due to the fact that the study of a particular fabric she was exposed to various chemicals like formaldehyde. Because of this, the liquid channels “dry out” and become visible. To identify a new layer of experts used the laser endomicroscopy, which combines traditional endoscopy with simultaneous determination of the histological structure of the living sample.

Open a new layer consists of a “grid” that is built from the proteins collagen and elastin that protects the fabric from damage due to cuts, sprains and pulsations of internal organs or vessels. As experts suggest, this layer can act as a channel for movement of extracellular fluid, ions and cells. If this fact is confirmed, it may explain, for example, the rapid spread of cancer processes in the connective tissue of organs, which will open the way to a fundamentally new approach to treatment.
