Tesla has launched another energy experiment in Canada

After successful completion of the project for the construction of energy storage in Australia, company Tesla owned by Elon musk, continues to actively develop this area of their business. Not so long ago it became known that it is planned to build a similar store in new York, and now it was the turn of Canada. In Nova Scotia (province in Eastern Canada) Tesla plans to create a network of battery Powerwall 2 and the Powerpack to store wind power.

The Tesla project will fill gaps in the energy network of the canadian province of, which nowhere leaves part of the produced wind electricity. In addition, it must insure the local population in case if the turbine system will not provide electricity demand that occasionally occurs, despite the efforts of the authorities. The project has been supported by the government of Canada and the first phase of testing is expected to begin before the end of the month.

Testing of the updated system of collecting and storing energy will last until the beginning of 2019. Power company Nova Scotia Power will monitor the effectiveness of solutions to Tesla and, depending on the results of the experiment will decide: whether to recommend the introduction of such technologies throughout Nova Scotia and other canadian provinces. In the experiment, the system will be extended only 300 houses. Of them to date only 10 families have in their homes batteries Powerwall 2. The main goal of the experiment will be to test whether it is possible to make people’s lives more independent from remote or unstable energy sources. The results of the canadian project will be announced later in the year.
