Fellow of the American space Agency kirk schirman reported that NASA has no plans to buy from the Roskosmos space on the Soyuz spacecraft for future space travel — Space News writes.
At the conference on the future launch to the ISS ship Dragon company SpaceX, schirman said that NASA to fly American astronauts on Soyuz already booked until mid-2019.
“The purchase of new places we with Russia do not discuss, because we believe in the timing of launches of commercial spacecraft SpaceX and Boeing”, — he said.
The first unmanned flight of Dragon spacecraft from SpaceX is scheduled for spring 2018, and on August scheduled the first test flight with crew. Boeing plans to conduct the first Autonomous launch vehicle Sparliner in March, and in November of the next year it will fly astronauts.
Since 2011, Russian Soyuz spacecraft are the only vehicles capable of delivering people to ISS. In NASA is planning in the next couple of years to replace “Unions” domestic vehicles that are currently in development.
