In India started selling the budget electric car in the world

Indian company Tata Motors established in 2009, Nano is a cheap and practical car, which, however, did not meet expectations. Now Tata Motos is going to try to conquer the market a second time, putting the Nano on the drive and making it the cheapest electric car in the world.

The development and production of auto Tata Motors will be engaged jointly with another Indian company Jayem Automotives. It is planned to supply cheap cars to taxi fleets, including a large number of partners Uber. One of the largest — Ola has already signed a contract to supply a large batch of machines.

The body of the new Nano EV will be assembled in the factories of Tata Motors, for the filling will meet the company Jayem Automotives, factories in which machines will set the electric and virtually all other key components. The drive, incidentally, was developed by the company Electra EV.

The first batch of cars will descend from the conveyor in the end of November 2017 — the government of India has placed an order for the supply of 350 cars before the end of the year in the spring. The next batch of 400 cars ordered by carrier Ola — this order going to be completed by the end of this year.

The decision to convert Nano to the electric car due to the fact that over the past eight years, the company was never able to get closer to the expected sales is planned to sell not less than a million Nano in the year, but by the end of 2016 for all the company struggled to sell 300 thousand cars. To increase interest in the car, decided to retool Nano actuators.

On one charge the car can travel more than 200 kilometers. Other parameters, like prices, developers have not yet reported. Apparently, in order not to “reveal the cards” over the competition from Mahindra & Mahindra, who also recently announced the start of production of electric vehicles.
