The participants of the experiment, lunar SIRIUS 17 days “returned to Earth”

All the astronauts gather in the future to go to Mars and establish colonies there. Some, for example, plan to fly to the moon and this too thoroughly prepared. Yesterday ended the simulating flight to the moon the SIRIUS experiment in which participants made semnadtsatiletny flight yesterday and “returned” to the ground and opened the hatches.

The project involved three men and three women: a member of the cosmonaut Anna Kikina, an employee of RSC “Energia” mark Serov, representative of Airbus Defence and Space’s Victor fetter, as well as employees IBMP Elena Luchitskaya, Natalia Lysova and Ilya Rukavishnikov.

The experiment lasted for 17 days. In its course the participants reached the “lunar orbit” and made around the moon virtual turns selecting through “window is the best place for landing.”

In addition, it was studied the participants in the experiment, which tried to distribute roles, learning to live, interact, work and play in a confined space, which is also important in future flights.

The SIRIUS experiment conducted at the Institute of biomedical problems (IBMP), so I try to study other aspects of future flights. For example, for greater realism directly in the module was mounted an installation of virtual reality. Fed participants also space food ration of Russian “Compita”.

For purity of experiment was simulated and emergency situations, during which the crew lost contact with the Ground where there were instructions. In this situation, subjects independently developed a new action plan, which adapted the tasks set before them.
