Another similar initiative was recently made by the company Facebook, which, together with aerospace manufacturer Airbus plans to create a satellite high-altitude unmanned aerial vehicles (HAPS). And this idea could succeed.
The fact that Facebook and Airbus have teamed up, and to work together to lobby the International telecommunication Union, the issue of expanding the range of frequencies that can be used for high-altitude pseudo-satellites. This will help to begin the process of manufacturing the latest equipment, not limited to current rules. There is another reason for merger: two giant produce Autonomous unmanned aerial vehicles running on solar batteries. Airbus already is testing drones with a T-tail UAV Zephyr, and representatives of Facebook recently claimed to have successfully conducted the flight of the drone Aquila UAV powered by solar batteries with the capacity of 5000 watts. “We have teamed up with Airbus to increase the range of frequencies for high-altitude pseudo-satellites to offer amendments to the international aeronautical rules for their use and to prove HAPS is perfectly located for distribution to the Internet in remote areas. If successful, the results of the cooperation we will be ready to submit to the world Radiocommunication conference to be held in October 2019”.
