Payment giant Visa launched a pilot phase of its blockchain project that allows you to make international B2B payments. The work on the project was announced last year. Then Visa decided to ease international transfers, making them quick and transparent. To do this, the Corporation enlisted the support of the startup Chain, working on projects in the field of blockchain.
In addition to the startup Chain, the work involved long-term partners Visa, which was American Commerce Bank, South Korea’s Shinhan Bank of the Philippines Union Bank and the United Overseas Bank from Singapore.
The head of the Department for promotion and development of Visa’s Kevin Phalen reported that the banks have already launched a test system for obtaining transaction using the new platform. In test mode it will continue to run until mid-2018, then the planned commercial launch of the platform.
“This week we reported on a test run B2B payments using our new blockchain platforms. But this is only the beginning. Very soon we will involve more banks and customers. Sure that among them will soon appear and major corporations,” he added.
To work with the blockchain-a platform we developed special software, which at the moment, and began testing. Therefore, the global launch of the project decided to postpone for six months to to test.
