AI won best London lawyers

Quite a long time talking about the fact that many areas in the future “to give” robots running artificial intelligence. But if the cost of production, like Assembly lines or service areas is not of major concern, then these are the areas which depend on the freedom of citizens is not so clear. For example, recently created by students of the Cambridge algorithm CaseCruncher Alpha coped with the lawyer’s work is better than top lawyers of Albion.

CaseCruncher Alpha created by three students of the law faculty of the University of Cambridge by Joseph Maruska, Rebecca Agliolo and Ludwig, bull. In fact CaseCruncher Alpha is a chat-bot based on an advanced neural network. Initially, the chat-bot will only respond to questions of a legal focus, but over time he was able to “upgrade” to such a level that he was able to predict the outcome of the litigation.

With regard to a very unusual experiment, about which the magazine writes the Next Web: the top 100 lawyers in London and a robot CaseCruncher Alpha received the same task — they presented data on 775 contentious cases insurance payments, and each team had to accurately guess what the cases decide the financial Ombudsman and which will remain without a verdict. In the end, the lawyers were right at 66.3% of cases, while the predictions of the AI coincided with the judge’s decision in 86,6% of cases.

It is worth noting that this is not the first such development. For example, soon the US will launch a special chat-bot with which any person without legal training will be able to file a lawsuit, and next year will earn algorithm DoNotPay. It will collect all the necessary documents in order to file for divorce. The use DoNotPay will save about 10,000 dollars for legal services. Thus, the question arises: if the artificial intelligence algorithms can do better for people and their services are cheaper, you need a real highly skilled professionals?
