Artificial intelligence will diagnose for just 1 dollar

There is little doubt that in the future artificial intelligence will help humanity in many spheres of activity. But some functions AI already can perform. Not for free. Israeli company Zebra Medical Vision not long ago introduced the device AI1 Zebra (or Zebra-Med), which analyzes the results of CT, MRI and other images for diagnosis. Finally, the robot is transferred to the doctors to ensure that those issued a final decision.

AI is already able to automatically identify 11 different diseases, and by the end of 2017 that number is expected to increase to 17. Among the pathologies that may reveal a robot, there are lung cancer, breast cancer, heart disease, blood vessels, and brain injury. As an example, the authors cite a study to identify the accumulation of calcium in the coronary arteries. As the developers say,

“To train deep machine learning, we used a lot of high-quality images provided by the hospitals involved in the project. In experiments with hundreds of CT scans AI showed a 95% correct of diagnoses. In addition, Al1 integrated into the radiology information system (RIS) and system of sharing images (PACS), which are used in medical institutions of the USA, UK and other countries. The cost of one study using is only 1 dollar”.

It should be noted that Zebra AI1 not the only robot doctor. Not so long ago IBM also trained his AI IBM Watson analysis of various images like x-rays, CT and MRI, based on what Watson is also able to draw conclusions about the presence of diseases.
