Self-driving cars all plugged into our lives, but scientists from the Institute of Technology Harbin (China) and the University of California (USA) apply developments in the automotive industry in order to create an Autonomous nanorobots that will be able to “travel” through the body, relying on similar technologies that already exist in the automotive industry.
New “mikromashinki” have a spherical micro-motors the size of 5 micrometers, and performing short movement, can independently complete the maze in any shape. In fact, these “cars” has a great future in Biomedicine where they can be used as capsules for targeted delivery of drugs, the suppression of tumors, act as diagnostic tools and so on. According to a leading specialist Longhu Lee,
“We connected technology AI to the microbots. Due to this, the vehicle is able to navigate and maneuver in a complex and dynamically changing environment. Our tiny “car-robots” able to move independently, avoiding collisions with obstacles and each other for control of microscopic vehicles had systems with feedback. Our system allows micromachines through a medium which can change at any time and in which can appear other microbots.”
At the moment the navigation is as follows: data core microscope cameras come in a kind of “navigational processor” that calculates the “travel map”. This card enters the program planner based on artificial intelligence, and it already is a list of possible navigation paths. This is followed by a choice of optimal and shortest path, and the magnetic field generator is a command sequence that cause the movement.
“We plan to apply our technology in the field of creation of microbots for medical purposes and for the manipulation of nanoscale objects. Now we need to develop more complex micromachines robots and more perfect management system, which will allow you to implement features such as emergency braking, cruise control and a number of other important elements.”
