Three days of national mourning in Spain

MADRID –

The Spanish prime minister, Mariano Rajoy, has three days of national mourning was declared. Rajoy responded to the attacks in Barcelona and Cambrils.

Rajoy travelled immediately after the attacks to Barcelona and said that the city was ,,touched by jihadist terrorism like other cities in the world”. He added: ,,Terrorists will never be a united people overcome that the freedom to prefer barbarity. Spain lives with the victims and their families.”

The Spanish monarchy declared via Twitter that Friday will be a minute silence is observed on the Plaza de Catalunya, in the vicinity of the area in Barcelona where Thursday night, a van rammed pedestrians.
