Belgium fipronilspoor from september 2016

BRUSSELS –

The Belgian fasfc FASFC has a track of the toxic pesticide fipronil found that dates back to september 2016.

The watchdog ordered samples from poultry farms to analyze for the outbreak of the eiercrisis were taken.

Fipronil was by the Dutch company Chickfriend illegally added to a means to the chicken mite in kippenstallen to kill. The verdelgingsmiddel came from the Belgian supplier Poultry-Vision. Both companies are the subject of judicial inquiry.

The FASFC knew of the eierbesmettting since the beginning of June of this year, but gave no alarm, owing to the low concentrations. However, information on the NVWA queried about Chickfriend. The NVWA had no warning given after the tip off in november because there is “no acute danger threatened to the public health.”
