In the Beijing metro has begun testing trains on a magnetic pillow

The development of new and faster and more fuel-efficient vehicles is in full swing. But if big giants like Tesla is still not aimed at the mass market, developments of scientists from China may well be to the taste of ordinary people, because they are aimed at the field of public transport. For example, this week in Beijing have begun testing a high-speed magnetic levitation trains for the local metro.

Reportedly, at this stage, the train will ply on the metro line S1, and the length of the segment of the railway, built on the technology of magnetic levitation, will be only 10 kilometers. Now the declared maximum speed of the train is 100 kilometers per hour, and one wagon can fit up to 150 people. The main advantages of the train are almost complete silent movement and no harm to the environment.

China’s first magnetic levitation train

The train itself was developed by the Chinese company Dalian CRRC with the assistance of experts from the southwest Jiaotong University. In the nearest plans of the experts is to build new railway lines for trains on a magnetic pillow, as well as the development of trains of this type, which could reach the speed of 600 kilometers per hour. According to available information, the new trains will have to occur no later than 2020, and new metro line will connect the suburbs of Beijing with its center.
