In recent time robots are more and more often “intrudes” into service in various agencies. In the US, for example, robot guards are often used to patrol shopping centers. One of the most popular models for this called Knightscope recently “committed suicide”, deliberately falling into the fountain.
According to the publication Mashable, the robot-guard was operating normally, but at some point, due to a failure in the software, he went to the fountain and entered the water. It is unclear why the robot decided to finish the journey of life in the fountain and what was the cause of the failure, but, according to the representative of the developers of the robot, with their engineers have started investigation into the incident.
The developer noted that they are ready to provide free of charge the management of the shopping center a new robot instead of untimely deceased robotic employee. Of course, this event could not remain without attention of Mall visitors, and they immediately began to photograph the scene and joke on this topic in social networks.
“We were promised flying cars and instead we got a robot suicide”.
“Stairs and fountains — our best defense against robopocalypse”.

It is worth saying that robots Knightscope hired to patrol shopping malls, Parking lots and other public places for a long time. The rental price of the robot is about 7 dollars an hour. The robotic guard uses a set of sensors for tracking a variety of incidents and other suspicious activity that is reported to the police. By the way, this is not the first incident involving the robot. Earlier in April this year in Silicon valley by a drunk man arrested for the attack on the robot, and in 2016, robot inadvertently knocked the employee’s child.
