During the next edition of the D23 Expo of the American Disney company shared with the press a huge amount of information about your current and future projects. Among other things it became known some interesting things about video games based on the famous space Saga “Star wars.” A very unexpected announcement was a teaser game for an augmented reality headset developed by Lenovo in conjunction with Disney. Through this device the fans of Star Wars for the first time can feel like a Jedi first-person.
It is difficult to say what is a new AR headset. We only know that it works in conjunction with a smartphone, shifting it a big part of the computational loads. But Disney seems to be seriously intends to grab a piece of the new and very promising market. We were shown a short teaser of the game Star Wars: Jedi Challenges where the girl in the headset picks up the replica of a lightsaber and proceeds to the game. Most likely, the player will see in his hands the true sword of the films and to defend them from all enemies, shots from blasters and other things. But to imagine all this is quite difficult.
During the exhibition, 2017 WWDC Apple showed AR demo, which makes the iPad screen you can see the famous holographic chess from Star Wars. But it was just a demo. Now it became known that Disney intends to release a full game, a game that will be using their augmented reality headset. Moreover, this headset will serve as a platform for several AR games that the company plans to release in the future.
And for a snack we recommend you to watch four-minute video about the development of the game Star Wars Battlefront 2, which will be released this autumn for PC, Xbox One and PS4.
