Past last month, the International Paris air show (which, incidentally, was the 52nd in a row) never ceases to amaze. For example, the company Eviation Aircraft presented to the public a working prototype of a fully electric passenger plane, able to cover a distance of 600 miles (almost 1,000 kilometers) without recharging.
A small plane that can carry up to 9 passengers and 2 crew members, developed by Eviation Aircraft in the framework of NASA On-Demand Mobility Program. By the end of 2018, the plane must pass all required certification and enter production. One of the main innovations of the aircraft is the design of the battery of the new type. According to representatives of the company Eviation Aircraft,
“In our plane used by the upgraded aluminum-air battery, originally developed by Phinergy Ltd. We added a buffer on traditional batteries and smart power distribution system based on the use of analytical algorithms. All this together represents the most efficient energy system that allows you to use every “speck” of scarce battery power”.
In addition, it is worth noting that Eviation Aircraft is positioning itself not as competitors of the other major airlines and private air carriers, but rather as the “air analog Uber”, alluding to the extensive coverage of its network due to the fairly large distance the aircraft is able to overcome in the air, and also at extremely affordable prices for the services provided.
