The Toyota Auris in hybrid form is recently refreshed. The facelift means a new front, some subtle changes to the rest of the car and a quite refreshed interior. Let the look start: this car has bigger wheels. When I went to retrieve I saw on the industrial estate in a version with slightly larger wheels, and that looks really much better. But there is, of course, not in this car, because if money want to save not buy thick wheels.
The interior is neatly styled. Sleek and business-like. The multimedia system is in a kind of horizontally placed iPad, flanked by touch-screen buttons for the main functions. The works are all quite logical and smooth. The only thing I noticed was the fact that it has several times happened that the iPod function of my iPhone 6 is automatically started playing when I reverse turned it. Freaky. Toyota indicates that they do not previously have experienced, so I’m going for convenience here assumed that there is a freaky connection between my phone and the Auris. Do me a favor if you have a test drive: test the even for me.
The rest of the interior is also in good order. The pookje is quite small, but that you have not often needed so that is not a disaster. The chairs are good, the materials are pretty neat and it is also silent. Very quiet. There are three modes in which you can set: EV Mode, ECO Mode and PWR Mode, it is not hard to guess which mode does what. Under the hood we find a hybrid powertrain consisting of an electric motor and a 1.8 four cylinder gasoline engine. In cooperation, these are good for a system power of 136 hp and 142 Nm of torque.
As long as you electrically drive you only hear what bandengeruis, only when the combustion engine kicks in you get some sound within. And that is a fairly intrusive, and in addition, constant noise, especially if you are well on the pedals. If that’s your consideration, then the Auris Hybrid is still not such a crazy idea. The Auris is not the type of car that Sunday afternoon for fun takes a bit to send. It is not the type of car where you have to leave when you are absent, just to see how great he is. But it is transport, cost relatively little, seldom goes piece and does everything a car as a vehicle to do.
