The owner bought the ring at an English flea market for say a fantastic £ 10. The jewel turned out to be a diamond jewel, that Wednesday evening at an auction at Sotheby’s in London converted 757.000 euros quite a lot.
The yield was double what the auction house previously had estimated. The weight of the ring turned out 26.27 carats (1 carat= 0.2 grams). The cut was by experts referred to as “cushion”, rectangular with rounded corners. The ring turned out to be so unique that he even has a name: the Tenner. According to the experts, he dates from the nineteenth century.
The buyer bought the ring in the eighties and had no idea of the value. He considered it as a fun and decorative thing, according to The Guardian.
