Thousands of civilians fled from IS-stronghold

PARIS –

Some 10,000 citizens of the north of the unofficial IS capital of Raqqa a safe refuge sought in a camp. The refugees fear that the Syrian city soon turns into a battlefield, and move out to the nearby village of Ain Issa.

Residents who Raqqa want to escape run large risks. Nonetheless, a lot of people willing to be the minefields and enemy fighters in the area to defy. “It is not a mass exodus, but every day, arriving about eight hundred people in Ain Issa,” said doctor Natalie Roberts of Doctors without Borders after her recent return from the region.
