Europol puts pictures of child abuse online

DEN HAAG-THE HAGUE

The international criminal police organisation Europol has to share pictures of child abuse online. The children are not to be seen, but objects in the background of the photos as a shampoofles, sharing wallpaper, sharing of clothes and a plastic bag. The organization hopes that the citizens on the basis of these objects can help with identification of the location and the rescue of the victims.

Small tips can sometimes help to have a case to solve, says Europol. A Miffy toy in the background of a photo, led the American police in the matter of Robert M. in 2010, for example, to the Netherlands. The photo was shared through Interpol and the hug was by agents recognized as English, then the ball was set rolling.

On the website of Europol are twenty photos published, coming from different European studies.
