The specialists of the Kazan experimental design Bureau “Falcon” for six years working on the creation of heavy UAV “Altair”. Last year they created the first version of the device and started to test it. Testing went well, then the engineers started to Refine the design of the drone, introducing in its design of new developments and technologies. The result was a second version of “Altair”, which recently “lit up” in the Network.
A prototype unmanned aerial vehicle has become heavier and now instead of the original five weighs nearly seven tons. Now the designers plan to increase the range of the “Altair” to 12 kilometers, along the way, having achieved a flight duration of 48 hours. The device must be able to carry on Board up to two tons of cargo — in this scenario, the UAV can not only perform reconnaissance, and carry a weapon on Board.
Earlier there were rumors that the developers are going to represent a civilian version of the aircraft — such a move will allow to attract to his establishment of private investors and increase the project budget.
