Very often, large companies collaborate with smaller contractors for the joint creation of something new. Not an exception and NASA, according to the order of which the experts of Parker Brothers Concepts has developed the concept of the Rover combined with a mobile laboratory. To say that Parker Brothers Concepts have long been engaged in the creation of futuristic vehicles to the film industry. And their new concept of the Rover witnesses have compared to the Batmobile.
The development was carried out at the end of 2016. The new vehicle is equipped with six wheels with a diameter of 1.3 meters and a width of 0.75 metres. Each wheel consists of several segments, are designed so that the wheels are somewhat similar to caterpillars. Such a solution should increase the permeability of the Rover. The body has a length of 8.5 meters, width 4 meters and a height of 3.4 meters. The body is made from carbon fiber and aluminium, and moves with built-in solar cells and batteries. On a flat surface the speed of the Rover can reach 110 kilometers per hour.
The cabin is designed for 4 people. Back to the jeep hooked up a mobile lab that can be readily uncoupled for research. At the moment, the Rover can be seen at the Space center NASA Kennedy in Florida. Later it will also be used in the educational tour “Summer of Mars”.
