National search engine “Sputnik” has not met expectations

The newspaper “Vedomosti” reports that are created in 2014, the Russian search engine “Sputnik” is going to close or fundamentally change, adapting it for other tasks. According to the source Newspapers, a national search engine has great potential and used to work the machine learning algorithms and resources can be used, for example, for e-government. But as the search engine “Sputnik” itself does not justify.

In April 2017 from the search engine on other sites it was committed a little more than one hundred thousand transitions, whereas using “Yandex”, “Google” and other daily committed billions of transitions. Despite the fact that the “Satellite” there are existing contracts and support the project is in the negative, therefore, according to the interlocutor of “sheets” in the near future it will decide the fate of the management of “Rostelecom”. The situation should become clearer in early June.

We will remind that earlier “Rostelecom” has closed its gaming service through which a few years distributing keys for digital copies of games from Steam and GOG. Apparently, restructuring their services and completely getting rid of the completely unnecessary, the company is trying to optimize costs, redistributing them to other, more important at the moment areas.
