The cloth has fallen for the most beautiful Sechser.
BMW has no publicity to be given, but in February, the latest 6-series Coupe (driving test) of the current generation of the band walked on. The Cabrio (driving test) and Gran Coupe are still built. BMW confirmed the sad fact of Road & Track.
In contrast to the most usual state of affairs came to the 6 series coupe after the 6-series convertibles on the market. The internal bouwcode of the coupe is F13 while the cabrio F12. That is counter-intuitive for the BMW followers, the 3/4-series is the building codes, respectively Ax0/Ax1/Ax2/Ax3 are for the Sedan/Touring/Coupé/Cabrio. To make it even more complicated to make the 6-series Gran Coupe F06 as bouwcode. Anyway, to the extent that this section is for the real autonerds.
BMW gives no reason for the stop of the production. We know that the new BMW 8-series in a short time the place of the 6-series is about in the range of models. That, however, applies just as well for the Coupe and for the Cabrio. Probably has the so just with a lack of demand. The Gran Coupe you eat a lot of customers off of the traditional one.
What concerns me is that a pity, because I find the traditional coupe a bit better than the four-door coupé. Thanks to the somewhat shorter carriage ‘ie (in my eyes) a bit more in proportion and more suitable for the Dutch scene. Throw you some whiskey on the ground for the demise of the F13, or you will not tear let to the death of this chic coupe?
Update: According to BMW, the Netherlands is the 6-Series Coupe is not yet in production. Quickly another one to order!
