George Barris
The designer of the Batmobile and David Hasselhoff’s Knight Industries Two Thousand is no more. He was 89 years old.

In addition to designer of legendary movie and tv cars was George Barris (b. 1928) is known mainly for his controversial taste. He was never afraid to put himself well on the foreground. As a result he was not loved by everyone, but that does not diminish the impact he has had on the autoscene.

George Barris (not to be confused with the photographer of Marilyn Monroe, for that matter) built mainly rods when he’s not busy designing cars for movies and television shows. A number of his most famous creations were the Batmobile, KITT, The Car and the Super Of.

George Barris (a.k.a. “The King of Kustomizers” was 89 years old. He was a married man and had grandchildren.
