Historie: de fraaie Peugeot 905
After the many rallysuccessen of Peugeot, it was time for an adventure in the sportwagenracerij. The French spared neither effort nor expense to the 905 competitive, and that worked.

Pretty good even! Under the leadership of Jean Todt (who later became the sceptre waved during the dominant Ferrari years in Formula 1, decided to Peugeot in the early ’90s to a trip to venture to the enduranceracerij. The weapon was the 905, a sleek sports car with a carbon chassis and an engine that later in a slightly modified form in the F1 would be used.

The chassis was baked by the men of Dassault, a company that, among other privéjets for the super-rich builds. The 3.5-liter V10 under the hood is good for 660 hp at 12.500 rpm(!). This block was later used by McLaren in the Formula 1 is used, although without too much success. Fortunately for the French, it appeared that this update is a shot in the rose, and the 905B finished in 1992 at sites 1 and 3 during the 24 hours of Le Mans. Unfortunately, the car was there during his life is not much better, but Le Mans is of course not a beauty contest. In 1993, won the French once again, the race of races. Stronger still: Peugeot occupied with the 905 Evo 1B the whole stage, where Toyota the year before still seized place 2.

Despite its successes shifted Peugeot its focus to Formula 1. It was -to put it mildly – not the best, but the brand in 2009 and finally to clinch a victory at Le Mans.
