GT-R vs 911 Turbo
What had the potential to lead to a good advice, suddenly got a very different turn.

We received recently an email from Niels (fictitious name) for an Autoblog Advice. Or we a list could make on the basis of a budget of approximately 50,000 euro. This amount was exclusive of the trade-in of his current car, an Audi A6 3.0 TFSI with Quattro. We got the mail from Niels to the many other requests (thank you!) for an Autoblog Advice. Shortly after his request, we got a new mail. “Let it sit, I have a deep blue Nissan GT-R bought from 2013.”

Let’s elaborate on the fact why Niels a new car was looking for. In his own words, he was the Audi insanely bored, actually. So now the ex-Audi driver, up to three times(!) with a broken S-tronic gearbox. This is quite bizarre, since the A6 only 80.000 km has run. It turned out the gearbox is not good to communicate with the computer. Niels also stressed other mechanical woes with the gearbox.

When I got the car bought started the car to vibrate between 100 and 130 km/h. So I thought: imbalance, maybe a bent rim, or a weird band or so. Audi dealer ( Pouw) couldn’t find anything. At a given moment, was pounding the steering wheel in the hands, and I of misery four new rims and tires bought. After that, the tank is literally broken out in Germany. In Germany, a perfect service, within 2 days a new tank underneath it and I could continue driving. In the Netherlands, reported to the dealer and got the note: you have to hard ridden.

I also have problems with the navigation and then again a weird interference in the bucket. switched off when not enjoying the back and remained in the rpm hang. And last week I was again along the A4 to look.
What I hate is the arrogance of VAG dealers. If you get there to buy a car then roll them to a red carpet, you come up with complaints is annoying. Because the symptoms they have never before experienced while the internet full of it.

Niels is certainly not what his next car: “absolutely no VAG more!!!”, according to the description in his request for the Autoblog Advice. He also says in Germany a couple of times in the 220 km/h to have tapped, but this would be the gearbox not to do death. Or anything also final means is still to be seen. The absolute dream car of Niels is, and remains, the Porsche 911 Turbo. Indeed, a VAG product. That dream, however, be (temporarily) replaced for the Nissan GT-R that he recently purchased. Ironically, perhaps the greatest rival of the 911 Turbo.

Meanwhile, a deep blue Nissan GT-R bought from 2013. First wanted a 911 (997) Turbo to buy, but since I’m no leniency could be expected of PON, I have decided to never buy anything by VAG is built. Had significantly deeper into the pockets, but I drive now with a grin around.

Niels had also made a test drive with a BMW E60 M5. However, the M5 with SMG III is now also not exactly the best reputation for reliability arrive and therefore had Niels the glorious V10.

But still: never say never. The new GT-R owner comes later in the mail at his own words back. “Luckily my wife is also a autofanaat and should I next year or a 911 to buy, but then she has preferably a convertible. Itself she drives a BMW Z4 3.0 and they really never anything worth mentioning with them.”
