So Toyota has almost all of its Japanese factories closed.
On april 14, Japan was rocked by a number of violent earthquakes, of which several lives were demanding and everyday life is quite messed up stuff. The consequences are far-reaching and also experience the Japanese car manufacturers. Not only factories in the affected area go temporarily closed, also facilities elsewhere in the country close temporarily their doors.
The biggest problems seem to be for Toyota, that different factories up to a week closed. Not because they are directly affected by the quakes, but because they have problems with a few suppliers with a shortage of parts camps. The production lines in about twenty factories come to a standstill for two to six days. Let’s just hope that the lower production numbers do not lead to lower performance-based rewards for staff…
Also other manufacturers are closing their factories because of the quakes. So has Nissan, production in two factories in the affected area shall be suspended, while Mitsubishi one of its factories for at least Monday and Tuesday is closed by a shortage of parts. Incidentally, it is not only the industry is affected, and so it was also Sony’s production lines in a sensorfabriek temporarily shutting down.
