Prince lives forever on in the Nissan Skyline

From yesterday, we all know what it sounds like when doves cry, because by the demise of the artist, who previously walked through life as a Prince sounded the ‘roe-cow’s’ just a little melancholy. In honor of the singer today special attention for Prince Motor Company, and the Prince Skyline.
For those who hear the name ‘Skyline’ only think of the rijstige R34 GT-R with NOS and ‘fart can’ that the late Paul Walker ‘2 fast 2 furious’ terminus, a little history lesson on the Friday afternoon.
The first car with the name Skyline was in 1955 launched by -yes – Prince Motor Company. This company, created in 1952, and joined in 1966 along with Nissan. Like many Japanese brands made the company part of a larger industry company. In this case, it was the Tachikawa Aircraft Company, which, among other aircraft for the Japanese in the second world war, such as the Ki-36, Ki-55 and Ki-74. Not the Zero’s so, because they were made by Mitsubishi.
The company decided to diversify by also cars. In 1946 it made the Tama, an electric car. The name ‘Prince’ was in 1952 adopted and was a tribute to Prince royal highness akihito, because that year was officially confirmed as the crown prince of Japan. In 1954, the name was however changed back in ‘Fuji Precision Industries’, before in 1961 to continue as the Prince Motor Company. The company has changed so often name as the artist. Two successful models of the brand were the Gloria and the Skyline. Below is a picture of the Skyline Sport Coupe BLRA-3.
In 1966, it merged the company with Nissan and disappeared the brand name on cars. Just the old dealer network is to 1999 continue under the ‘Prince’name. The Gloria and Skyline models are, however, silently included in the Nissan range of models and make there until the day of today. These two models are nowadays outside of Japan also known as the Infiniti M, and Infiniti G.
