Since 2012 is the Belgian Luc Donckerwolke head designer of Bentley, but by 1 July 2015 he gets on. Of their own accord, says Bentley.
The now 49-year-old Donckerwolke is perhaps the best known of his time at Lamborghini, where he was responsible for the Gallardo and Murcielago. Hereafter he went to the Seat, to be used later again within the VW group to switch: to Bentley this time.
At Bentley puntte Donckerwolke, the Continental GT, and under his auspices appeared also the Hybrid Concept (on the basis of the Mulsanne) and the very sexy Speed Six.
The first design concept of the Bentayga, the EXP 9F, came to Bentley at the hefty criticism, and is seen by many as the low point of his tekenkunsten considered. But we all have a slip of the pen, isn’t it? Very recently came Donckerwolke is still in the news when he gave interviews criticized Lincoln Continental to open fire. A carriereswitch to FoMoCo seems to us unlikely.
Sielaff takes over
The replacement of Donckerwolke is internally found, Stefan Sielaff (53, photo), to follow the Belgian. Sielaff has been a quarter of a century in various functions within VAG. Bentley expresses the switch as follows: “Mr. Sielaff replaces Mr Donckerwolke who has decided to leave the business and Volkswagen AG“. That sounds pretty drastic.
