Honestly we will share everything.
Cost saving is a hot topic within the VAG group, especially now that dieselgate a megalomaniac expense seems to be. One of the ways to be saved, is to during the development of different models as many parts as possible from the exchange. The group is working with various modular platforms, from which the Porsche-developed MSB platform, and the Audi-developed MLB platform, which is currently the largest.
Porsches new twin-turbo 4.0 V8 with 553 horsepower and 770 Nm of torque is compatible with both platforms. That means that the block is not only going to come across in the new Porsche Panamera Turbo -in which the power source will debut – and the next Cayenne Turbo, but also in the upcoming Audi A8, Bentley Continental, and probably even the Lamborghini Urus. Sure that the block is further tickled will be for models like the Panamera Turbo S, Audi S8 and the Continental Speed.
Another car, which is not by Automobilmag appointed, but on the MLB platform, is the next-generation Audi RS6. With some extra oomph will the dubbelgeblazen achtcilinder are also sure to feel at home in this super-A6. If the rumors are correct the upcoming RS4 with a V6 and the achtcilinder to the smallest product on the MLB platform over.
The new vierliter replaces the current twin-turbo 4.8 V8 from Porsche and is, according to the rumors closely related to the Audi-developed 3.0 TFSI. Thanks cilinderuitschakeling, the block, despite the increased performance, much more economical than its predecessor.
