Since its introduction in 2000, there are roughly 1.3 million copies sold. Now is the time for a new, third generation. Can this bake the success to continue?
After he again yesterday uitlekte, we now have all the info and specs. To start at the front: the grille is wider, and we see headlights with dual units and a LED strip on the front. The line in the bodywork is a bit inclined upwards (sporty!) and the back side now in terms of styling in line with the rest of BMW’s line-up, particularly in terms of the taillights. The cW-value from 0,31 (BMW X5 xDrive30d), thanks to deflectors for the rear window, Air Curtains at the front and the Air Breather system at the wheel arches at the front.
M50d is back
We have what to choose in terms of engines? Absolutely. To with fun stuff to begin: the BMW X5 xDrive50i is equipped with the nieuwstee generation V8 delivers 330 kW (450 hp), the BMW xDrive 30d has six-in-line diesel engine of 190 kW (258 hp) and the BMW X5 M50d M Performance still comes with a hefty diesel engine, three turbo’s hung on it, good for 280 kW (381 hp). Later, except for the mentioned BMW sDrive25d is still the BMW xDrive25d, BMW xDrive40d, BMW X5 xDrive35i.
More space, more inches
The interior is also a great cost / benefit in terms of innovation. Narrower vents to create space for a semi-gigadisplay of 10.25-inch diameter to BMW’s iDrive control. Further, the rear seat in three parts folding (40:20:40), whereby the luggage compartment can be improved from 650 to 1.870 liter, respectively, 30 and 120 litres more than the previous model. Optional is a third row of seats available, to seven people can cram. The rear cover (two-piece) is always electrically opening and closing with the remote or with a switch from the driver’s position
Prices? That are not there yet, as well as info about the upcoming BMW X5 M. However, BMW is clearly that he is starting on 16 november at the dealer.
