In the St. Petersburg metro will be wifi on trains and at stations

According to news Agency Regnum, in St. Petersburg metro will create a free Wi-Fi. About it told journalists Pavel Fedoseev, Deputy head of city Committee on transport.

At the moment the government of St. Petersburg negotiates with a potential investor. It is planned that the Wi-Fi network in the St. Petersburg metro will be established by the example of Moscow.

However, there are notable difference — access to Wi-Fi will be provided not only in trains on tracks, but in the concourse. In Moscow, the metro management decided not to develop Wi-Fi in subway stations after the pilot project showed that the Internet leads to pandemonium and bad for safety underground.

All will be equipped with telecommunications equipment of about 300 trains and metro to create the infrastructure in the tunnels with total length of 380 km.
